Canute Curtis (born August 4, 1974 in Amityville, New York) is a former linebacker in the NFL. He played for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1997 to 2002. He was drafted in the 1997 NFL Draft out of West Virginia, where he was a consesus All-American.

Curtis is currently the defensive line coach at Towson University.

College career

In 1996, Curtis led the nation's top-ranked defense by setting the school sack record with 16.5 and accumulated 11 tackles for a loss. He totaled 67 tackles, forced two fumbles, and had an interception. Curtis was one of the finalists for the Dick Butkus Award for best linebacker and for the Bronko Nagurski Award for best defensive player while also being named a consensus All-American.

Curtis finished his career as WVU's all-time sack leader with 33.5 sacks.
